this may not be much...but i think that the triton/aquarius should be lvl 5 instead of 4 and the pirate/corssair should be 4 instead of 5 ...

2007-07-09 12:49:37
Masz rację. Ludzie bez magii albo koni nie mog± być na 5-7 poziomie.

2007-07-09 14:28:08
yes it's that too but triton i think that looks alot more powerfull than a pirate...

2007-07-09 16:27:57
Hmmm... Mam inny pomysł. Chcę, aby tryton i wodnik były osobnymi jednostkami.

2007-07-09 16:53:18
that could work as well but i still think that lvl 5 is way to much for pirate/corrsaire

2007-07-09 17:28:23
Agreed. Swashbuckling morons with beards could never realistically match up to Liches or even Ogres. Level 3 is more suited to their standards.

2007-07-09 18:31:30
and about the regna inside sky....it's too darky isn't it?

2007-07-10 11:32:11
Alustor, GooD Idea.

2007-07-10 11:57:28
I think the Regnan town's sky is perfect. The only things I'd change about the town's interior are the Underwater Cave, the Castle and the ship, and some of the building names.

2007-07-10 12:06:40
I showed new Regna castle already

So it looks in town (It is necessary adjust it for the rest pulverizate only)

2007-07-10 12:21:53
Looks excellent, perhaps a bit too bright. Please understand that I don't know Polish so I don't browse many of the non-translated threads.

2007-07-10 13:18:09
if u ask me i don;t like to position of the castel in that picture i think it should be put more in the center or more to the left not realy in the center.....and about the sky...i still think it should be a bit brighter :D and the triton looks better than the aquarius...i think the aquarius should be modified or even changed?

While we're at it, I'd like to suggest some name changes for the Regnan town.

Colony -> Seaport (From what I understand, the town is called the Colony at the moment. As Colony is often regarded as the name of the Heroes world, and has little to do with ships or pirates, I think we should rename the town to the Seaport.)

Might Hero -> Buccaneer (I don't know the real name, even if there is one, so why not this? It's another name for Pirate, anyway.)

Magic Hero -> Conjurer (Seems like a nice name in my opinion. Calling them Hydromancers would go against the other hero names (Heretics are not Pyromancers, Druids are not Geomancers) and suggests that they can use any elemental magic they like, not just Water Magic.)

Rat -> Rat (Speaks for itself. No reason for change.)

Ratman -> Wererat (This is what they're called in Might and Magic, and it sounds a little better in my opinion.)

Ruffian -> Ruffian (No reason for change.)

Mercenery -> Mercenary (A good name, no reason for change.)

??? -> Arbalestress (This was a previous name suggestion, and to me seems like the best name. It's better than Crossbowman, and more suitable than Sniper.)

??? -> Elite Arbalestress (So far, no unit in the game uses the prefix 'Elite'. Why not this one? Besides, I can't think of anything else to describe a crossbow-wielding pirate woman.)

Pirate -> Pirate (Now why should we change this?)

Corsair -> Swashbuckler (I suppose it just fits the graphic better than Corsair.)

Triton -> Triton (Nothing really wrong with this name.)

Aquarius -> Triton Overseer (What would we use for the plural of Aquarius? A horde of Aquariuses?! Triton Overseer seems more fearsome than Aquarius or Nix, and links the unit with the Triton somewhat better.)

Adept -> Windspeaker (Adept can really mean any type of spellcaster. It can even be used for non-magical professions.)

ArchMage -> Windshaper (There's already an Arch Mage unit in the game.)

Sea Serpent -> Sea Serpent (Fits the bill. No need for change.)

Leviathan -> Leviathan (What a great name.)

If someone would be so kind as to tell me the which creatures belong to each of the dwellings in the Regnan town, I can write up some names for them too.

So, does it sound good or bad?

2007-07-12 08:18:29
Yea, new names are way better than the previous ones. Good job.

2007-07-12 21:24:20
gj cepheus nice ideas :)

2007-07-12 23:26:05
Swoj± drog±, który z tłumaczy nazwał Szczurołaka Ratmanem?

2007-07-12 23:51:25
Thanks guys.

2007-07-13 01:35:59
Ja, proponowałem nazwę Wererat, ale Ticho wolał Ratman.

2007-07-13 16:22:31
I do think we should go with Wererat - it's what 3DO chose in Might and Magic VIII, and it's what they would have wanted. And after all, they're the ones who invented Vori and Regna, so we have them to thank for the very existence of this mod.

2007-07-14 11:09:05
Well, Ceph, everything's ok, but I'd prefer Ocean Sage etc. instead of Oceanic. To be honest, Oceanic resembles me somehow the ad of Old Spice or Adidas or sth else... y'know what I mean, hope :)

2007-07-14 11:52:12
Then how about Nautical or Aquatic Sage? Sound any better? :)

2007-07-14 12:01:15
Hmm... Maybe Windspeaker?

2007-07-14 12:40:42
Windspeaker -> Windshaper. How does that sound?

2007-07-14 13:18:49
Czyli mamy: Zaklinacz Wiatrów -> Władca Wiatrów?

2007-07-15 00:36:00
the windspeaker / shaper thing sounds nice only that those guys don;t really look like windspeakers/shapers esspacially the one with the wodden leg(he looks great but just doesn;t look like a windshaper i think :P ) ... i like the ocean sage thing...

2007-07-15 01:57:55
>>What would we use for the plural of Aquarius? A horde of Aquariuses?!

"Aquarius" to łacińskie słowo, więc liczba mnoga to "Aquarii".

2007-07-15 14:10:22
>> the windspeaker / shaper thing sounds nice only that those guys don;t really look like windspeakers/shapers...

Perhaps we should swap the graphics between the two?

>>"Aquarius" is Latin word, so plural form is "Aquarii".

I was thinking of that, but it doesn't quite match with many of the other creatures in the Heroes III game.

2007-07-15 14:54:57
"The Magi" - as an analogy to the latin "Magus"?

2007-07-15 15:11:28
Heh, you've got me there! :)

Now that I think about it (Pegasi, Ogre Magi, Efreeti) it turns out that that actually IS used quite a lot.

But for a creature name, I still think Triton Overseer sounds better than a starsign.

2007-07-15 15:57:43
Though Aquarius was firstly the mythical creature, then the star constellation and a quite dummy Within Temptation's song ;) And still we have another Overseer if I remember correctly...
